Melkweg Rewind is a captivating and innovative concept introduced by the Melkweg venue in Amsterdam and initiated by students of the HvA. This unique initiative is designed to enhance the concert experience by allowing attendees to "rewind" and relive the moments they might have missed during a live performance.

While studying at Queensland University, I was tasked with a significant assessment project: crafting two portfolio pieces. Drawing inspiration from previous work I had developed, I decided to build upon that foundation. For this assessment, my focus is on the creation of two distinct yet interconnected motion design pieces.

Context

Melkweg Rewind is a cutting-edge app developed by the Melkweg venue in Amsterdam. Its primary purpose is to enhance the concert and event experience by aggregating user-generated social media videos filmed at the same location. Concertgoers and event attendees can voluntarily share their videos, tagged with the event or specific hashtags, which the app then collects and curates. What sets Melkweg Rewind apart is its ability to provide users with a comprehensive view of the event, from various angles and perspectives. This means users can replay the event, moment by moment, catching scenes they may have missed during the live performance. Beyond its practical use, the app fosters a sense of community and shared experiences among attendees. It's a valuable resource for preserving event memories and sharing them with friends, making it a unique and engaging addition to the Melkweg concert and event experience.
